0547 GMT - One of the key points to look for in Bank of Japan Deputy Gov. Ryozo Himino's speech Thursday is whether he says the bank will discuss the need for an interest-rate hike at its September meeting, according to SMBC Nikko Securities strategist Ataru Okumura. Himino used a similar expression in his January 2025 speech shortly before a rate increase. Since then, such a phrase has been viewed by investors and analysts as a sign that an imminent policy change is possible. The overnight index swaps market is currently pricing in an 86% chance of a September action.
