SpaceX's (SPCX) Cursor AI agent was used by a hacking and ransomware group to target 10 target organizations earlier this year, cybersecurity firm Gambit Security said Thursday.

Reuters described the Aurora hacking and ransomware group as a Russian-backed or aligned operation.

The Aurora ransomware activity was first detected in April, with targets in multiple countries, Gambit said.

"We also observed the Aurora operator using Cursor Agent, running Claude Sonnet, to assist with hands-on exploitation," Gambit said.

Gambit said it identified a second cluster of activity that it attributed to Aurora with medium confidence.

SpaceX did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
