CITIC Bank Reports Dual Growth in H1 Revenue and Net Profit, While Adjusted Net Profit Dips Slightly

On August 26, CITIC Bank released its performance report for the first half of 2026. During the reporting period, the bank achieved operating revenue of RMB 109.408 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.05%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank reached RMB 37.602 billion, up 3.08% from RMB 36.478 billion in the same period of 2025.

Notably, net profit attributable to shareholders of the bank, excluding non-recurring gains and losses, stood at RMB 36.135 billion, reflecting a decrease of 0.55% compared with RMB 36.335 billion in the prior-year period. While both revenue and attributable net profit posted positive growth, the slight decline in adjusted net profit indicates that non-recurring items provided some support to overall profitability.

On the same day, the board of directors of CITIC Bank approved a profit distribution proposal to be submitted for review at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting, with a cash dividend of RMB 2.03 per 10 shares. The payout plan will take effect only after receiving approval from the extraordinary shareholders' meeting.

Against the backdrop of earnings pressure across the banking sector, CITIC Bank managed to sustain positive growth in both revenue and attributable net profit. However, the decline in adjusted net profit may signal challenges in the profitability of its core business operations. Investors are advised to monitor the quality of earnings and the sustainability of dividend payouts.
