Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Accelerating Development of Emerging Pillar Industries Including Aerospace and Intelligent Robotics Over the Next Five Years

On August 26, at the State Council Information Office's series press conference themed "A Strong Start to the 15th Five-Year Plan," Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xin Guobin outlined the ministry's strategic focus for the coming half-decade.

The plan emphasizes optimizing the industrial structure by advancing the upgrade of traditional sectors, fostering the growth of emerging industries, and strategically positioning future-oriented fields to maintain a comprehensive and robust industrial system.

Key priorities include accelerating the establishment of emerging pillar industries such as integrated circuits, aerospace, biomedicine, low-altitude economy, new energy storage, and intelligent robotics. Concurrently, efforts will target future industries including quantum technology, biomanufacturing, hydrogen and nuclear fusion energy, brain-computer interfaces, embodied intelligence, and sixth-generation mobile communications (6G) to cultivate them as new economic growth drivers.

These initiatives reflect a coordinated approach to industrial advancement, aiming to secure long-term competitiveness and sustainable development for the national economy.
