A new Sam's Club location is preparing to welcome customers in Beijing's Fangshan district, marking the sixth store for the city. According to a recent store visit, the Fangshan Sam's Club is scheduled to open its doors on August 31.

This latest location is placing a strong emphasis on technology-driven shopping experiences, featuring a dedicated smart products section. Shoppers will find an array of innovative items, including AI-powered chess robots, AI-assisted robotic dogs, 3D printers, smart rings, pocket-sized cyber guitars, and motion-sensing rackets, among other tech-forward offerings.

Covering an expansive area of 4.66 hectares, the Fangshan store comes equipped with both above-ground and underground parking facilities, offering more than 900 parking spaces for members. The main shopping area, located on the first floor, will showcase approximately 4,000 different products.

Beyond the usual assortment of groceries and daily necessities, the new store has curated a special smart product zone filled with tech items suitable for family use. The product selection has also been broadened to cater to more detailed aspects of home life, ranging from personal care and kitchen cooking to tech-enabled pet ownership.

Sam's Club first entered the Beijing market in 2003, and has since established five locations across the city. With the continued growth of the southwestern residential population and the rising demand for quality family shopping options, the company sees this expansion as a strategic move.

"The opening of the Fangshan store represents a significant step in Sam's Club's efforts to refine its overall network layout in Beijing," a company representative stated. "It effectively strengthens our presence in the southwestern area, allowing us to extend our member services to more local families." The company has also reaffirmed its commitment to continuously enhancing its product offerings and omnichannel experience to better serve members' needs across the capital.

Looking ahead, more Sam's Club locations are already in the pipeline. The Tongzhou and Haidian stores are currently under accelerated construction, with plans to welcome customers by 2027. Additionally, the Chaoyang location has secured its project planning permit. Once these new stores are operational, the total number of Sam's Club member stores in Beijing will increase from the current five to nine, achieving comprehensive coverage across all directions of the city.
