On August 26, in a financial frontline update, Jiangsu Province issued the "Three-Year Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the Biomedical Industry." The plan highlights the establishment and enhancement of a diversified payment system.

It encourages commercial health insurance and medical mutual aid schemes to incorporate innovative drugs into their coverage, while also aiming to strengthen and optimize popular commercial health insurance products such as "Jiangsu Medical Insurance Benefit." The healthcare security department will leverage an industry-trusted data space to cooperate with eligible commercial health insurers on data integration applications, settlement, and clearing processes.

Furthermore, innovative drug application cases covered under such qualifying commercial health insurance policies may be exempt from case-based payment calculations, with payments processed following a review and evaluation procedure.
