CPIC Launches Nation's First Comprehensive Insurance for Mobile Helipads

On August 19, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd., through its property insurance arm's Zhejiang branch, partnered with strategic ally Zhejiang Shengxiang Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. to roll out the country's first comprehensive insurance product tailored for mobile helipads.

This innovative coverage targets three critical risk areas: product liability, operational safety responsibilities, and cybersecurity threats. It provides end-to-end protection for mobile helipads from factory delivery through on-site deployment, establishing a fresh collaborative framework for the insurance ecosystem supporting low-altitude infrastructure.

As China's low-altitude economy accelerates from experimental flights into routine operations, low-altitude infrastructure has emerged as a cornerstone of the nation's strategic emerging industries. Facilities such as helipads, communication navigation systems, and air traffic control platforms are becoming essential foundations for large-scale industry expansion.

Shengxiang Aviation's self-developed mobile helipad features a foldable vehicle-mounted design equipped with automatic leveling systems for complex terrain adaptation, overcoming the spatial limitations of traditional fixed helipads. These units serve diverse applications including emergency rescue, medical transport, cultural tourism, business aviation, and logistics. However, the demanding operational environments, frequent mobility, and ever-changing deployment scenarios of mobile helipads expose risks that conventional aviation ground insurance fails to address, leaving a protection gap in low-altitude infrastructure coverage.

The comprehensive insurance solution introduced by CPIC's Zhejiang branch specifically targets these vulnerabilities, offering a customized protection package that addresses equipment design flaws, insufficient documentation, human error, environmental hazards, cyber attacks, and platform intrusions. The multi-layered safeguards create a full-spectrum defense network spanning physical to digital security for mobile helipads.

Industry experts note that low-altitude infrastructure serves as the hard backbone for transitioning the low-altitude economy from technical validation to commercial scale, while insurance protection functions as the soft foundation ensuring system stability. The newly launched mobile helipad comprehensive insurance not only fills the void in systematic risk coverage within this sector but also marks a significant leap from simple risk compensation toward comprehensive, chain-wide protection mechanisms.

Looking ahead, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. plans to intensify its focus on the low-altitude infrastructure insurance segment, addressing real-world risk pain points, driving financial product innovation, and refining its integrated insurance-plus-full-chain risk protection model to support the high-quality development of the low-altitude economy.
